Jenny’s Degree show exhibition 'Try another pill' is a playful entrance into an important conversation.

Birth control has been a significant advancement for women, yet it’s not a one size fits all solution. Too often, young girls and women are prescribed it as a quick fix for a wide range of issues such as migraines, acne or mildly irregular periods without full consideration of individual needs or the potential side effects. These side effects are frequently dismissed, and concerns are met with the suggestion to simply “try another pill.”

Through the use of hand embellishments, vibrant colours, and childlike drawings that explore girlhood, this collection aims to create an accessible starting point in the conversation around the experiences of women navigating hormonal birth control.

Jenny Connolly also won the DCU Young Designer of the year.
